Activities & Steps
The contest is made up of several stages and these are detailed below. The evaluation criteria (that will be used by the juries to select the applications that will progress to the second and third stage of this Contest) are based on a 50-50 split between the technical and marketing potential of the application. The marketing criteria include originality, uniqueness and re-usability of the product concept and the quality of the presentation and written summary. The technical criteria include Java™ coding skills and the quality of the technical documentation.

- Decide if you would like to work alone or in a team of two.
- Register (no later than 20 November 2008) using the button on the home page or the link in the right-hand column. If you are in a team both students must register on the same form.

- When your registration is approved you will receive your password.
- Login and see more of the site –there is a SDK/J Handbook as a technical manual, FAQs and Past Applications to give you ideas and tips.
- Contest – opens on 17 October 2008. From this date you will be able to use your password to login and the tools will be available for download so the earlier you register, the longer you will have for development.
